Eaglehawk Town Hall and Mechanics Institute date back to 1865, and are on the Victorian Heritage Register. Understandably there is a strong focus on the protection of the original building fabric.

We have been involved with the precinct masterplanning and feasibility works to review the accessibility, connectivity and amenitites of the site, as well as designing a new walkway extension and door widening to link the Eaglehawk Library (formerly the Mechanics Institute) with Eaglehawk Town Hall to provide compliant DDA access. The conservation works will extend the life span of the building, improving their use and flexibility while retaining the embodied energy in the original construction.
